Then, get into the mindset of curating your own "packs" folder, the "user" folder in the browser can be filled with samples, presets, audio tracks, midi tracks, anything you like. Put the MP3 away into an archive and forget about it. This is like, either to show family, a mentor or significant other once and only once. Don't share it online, don't make friends at a party listen to it. Get something that you can kinda get behind. 100% presets (I mean feel free to tweak, but don't get discouraged) Just put something together. Don't become too attached to your project, be free to totally f+++ it up! It's a sandbox! ![]() I used that and a lot of trial and error to get off the ground. The "packs" section in your file browser (the left of the screen" has a lot of stuff you can just drag and drop onto your project. They're GOAT for beginners with FL Studio. I can't recommend that YouTube channel enough or more highly. This and the imagine line website are the ONLY reason I am even able to be recording vocals, to send it through a mix channel instead of straight to the master, along with explaining and showing how a lot of the native plugins (big up EQ chorus, soundgoodizer, pitcher and reverb haha) work and how to use them to get minimal effect instead of overpowering everything. They're AMAZING for beginners and show the very basics and explain why you need to do things they way show. The only place I found any real basic help were some of the videos on the we side for my audio interface (bigup Scarlett).īut then I found the channel 'In The Mix' and their videos. I found the same as OP, there is SO MUCH this DAW can do and so much included that a lot of the channels are not for the noobs and beginners who just need to grasp the basics and a lot of them actually just confused me and led me down asking more questions than they answered which left me incredibly frustrated (all the gear and no idea is the phrase that sprung to mind). I want to preface my comment to say that I've had FL studio and my mic etc setup (I only want to record vocals over beats I pay for or collab for with producers) for a month or so but the first 2ish weeks I was LOST in the videos and stuff I found online as they just didn't break things down slowly enough or basic enough for me (last time I touched an instrument was over a decade ago so I have forgotten most of not all music theory and I NEVER used a DAW or mixed etc).
